DESCRIPTION:Cohousing is a way of living in self-governing communities with our neighbours. This event will introduce you to the basics of the Cohousing movement. It will be run in two sessions with a break – feel free to come for either or both parts as you are able. \n\n\n\n1:30pm – 3pm: What is Cohousing? \n\n\n\n\nThe basic principles of Cohousing and history of the movement\n\n\n\nWhat is not Cohousing?\n\n\n\nExamples of Cohousing communities in Australia\n\n\n\nQ&A\n\n\n\n\n3pm – 3:30pm: afternoon tea (provided) \n\n\n\n3:30 – 5pm: Deep Dive: Cohousing Pathways \n\n\n\n\nFinance options and legal structures\n\n\n\nLand acquisition\n\n\n\nGroup formation and community building\n\n\n\nQ&A\n\n\n\n\nWe’ll also be sharing about some of Sydney Cohousing’s activities and plans for 2026. \n\n\n\nThis event is for anyone who wants to learn about ways to live more collaboratively. Whether you’re a renter\, homeowner\, in social housing or unhoused\, if you care about community\, then you are welcome. \n\n\n\nSydney Cohousing is an incorporated association that promotes the creation of community-led housing projects all across Sydney. We know our current housing system is not working for the majority of people\, or for our planet. We know there are better ways to live—and we can make them happen\, together! \n\n\n\nBefore houses were investment assets\, our ancestors lived in small clans and villages. We want to recreate aspects of village life in a modern setting\, by creating housing that is affordable\, sustainable\, inclusive and accessible. The modern Cohousing movement began in Europe\, and it has inspired people across the world to live better together. \n\n\n\nPlease RSVP via Humanitix or MeetUp. \n\n\n\nCan’t make it in person?
